The Calabria Movie – International Short Film Festival (CMFF) was born from the idea of creating a meeting point for film fans and authors who want to discuss the importance and changes of the seventh art. The desire is to reunite the authors and representatives of Calabrian cinema in a regional festival to preserve and make known the typical cinema of the territory, maintaining interest in international cinema. The CMFF is not just a Film Festival, it is an opportunity to let art speak and to create space for discussion and fusion. The festival is dedicated to all Italian and international Moviemakers and Directors who have made a short film (max 30 minutes) of any theme.
The city of Crotone will host the CMFF 2021 to create a moment of reflection on cinema and a meeting place for the entire network of Calabrian cinema through screenings and awards. This beautiful land has shown the right character to establish itself and become the setting for many national and international films and TV series in the last five years. The locations, the welcome of the locals, the ideal climate and the constant support of the Film Commission Calabria have led to many production companies deciding to shoot their projects in the south of Italy.
Message from Directors Festival: “For us, CMFF is much more than a short film festival. It is an opportunity to give space to cinema and art in general in a sometimes difficult area like Calabria. The desire is to bring together the authors and representatives of Calabrian cinema in a festival of regional identity that can look at the past and the future in the same way. It is fundamental for us to make the language of short films known in our region through the works of authors from all over the world and to create moments of discussion and reflection. ÉCU is Europe’s premier event for independent filmmakers and their audiences. It is at the center of the discovery, promotion, and projection of the very best independent filmmaking from around the world. We place special emphasis on supporting filmmakers of the future by helping promote their skills which will help them to continue along the path of innovation, creativity, and independence.
The main festival event will take place from the 9th to the 11th of April in Paris, France, and will showcase around 100 of the World’s very best independent films competing in 14 categories including feature films, short films, documentaries, animation, experimental and student films, to large international audiences. In addition to the film screenings, the festival also has a full program of networking opportunities, professional workshops, “Meet the Directors” sessions, VIP events, and live music performances.

Devour! is a transformative food and film experience combining cinematic excellence with extraordinary gastronomic activities. The annual film festival typically hosts 100+ events, celebrated filmmakers and high-profile chefs from around the globe. Devour! takes place in Wolfville, Kings County, the agricultural heartland of Nova Scotia; home to a thriving wine industry and hospitable community with a longstanding farm-to-table ethos. Devour! aims to inspire people to think differently about food and create a deeper connection to it. The 2021 fest is scheduled for October 19-24.

The international Berlin Sci-fi Filmfest is now in its 4th festival year. We are proud to be the first genre-specific science-fiction film festival in Germany. We are passionate about film-making and celebrate all sci-fi genres from cyberpunk to solar punk in action, drama, documentary, web-series, animation, music, experimental, fan-films and geek interests. Over the last years, we have also gone beyond the film with exhibits, art performances and book readings – in fact, all things science-fiction!
With our live festival experience, we have been offering a platform for Independent Sci-fi Filmmakers to present their work on the big screen and get in touch with a live audience in one of the most beautiful and world-famous cinemas in Berlin – The Babylon (where Metropolis was first screened in 1927). Sadly, due to the current COVID-19 situation and restrictions, the Babylon has closed for the time being and our live event postponed.
But, you can’t keep a good Independent down! With the aim of keeping the festival alive and reach out to a global audience, we have partnered with XERB.TV to create a virtual theatre experience. Our Exclusive Virtual Cinema will run for the whole weekend from the 27th November to 6th December 2020. We will feature 20 sessions packed with a mouth-watering futuristic feast of science-fiction films from around the world. There are 110 feature and short films from 28 countries in all subgenres and styles – and many filmmakers are providing us with exclusive introductions to their films!
The screening rooms will be interactive, so that guest will be able to communicate with each other and with the filmmakers. There will also be a Space Lounge where filmmakers can chat and exchange ideas.CLICK HERE for XERB.TV.
