A Director’s Point of View on Auditioning

Casting director Erica Arvold, CSA, talks with Eric Hurt, director, about auditioning, booking and working with actors. Eric talks about the importance of choices in an actor’s performance, an actor’s range, the undefinable characteristics an actor brings, as well as the practical considerations of the intense partnership an actor and director forge during a production. They also give advice on the importance of the script and how to prepare for a director session, as well as giving etiquette tips on interaction with production once the job is booked.
